OUR STORY
I'm Deborah — grandma, homemaker, sourdough baker, and the heart behind Genuine Blessings. I live in rural South Georgia with my family — my dear mother, whose quiet wisdom and steady presence make our home what it is, my grandson, hardworking, steady and self-sufficient — growing up right before my eyes — and we share our home with dogs, chickens, rabbits, and one very opinionated cat. Then there's my granddaughter Sky, a teen entrepreneur. She bakes the most incredible sourdough cookies and plays the violin like she was born for it. The two of us somehow ended up building this little corner of the internet together, and I couldn't be more proud.
The word Genuine is special to me. It comes from a man I loved like a brother — my sister's husband — who bestowed upon me the greatest honor when he told my sister I was the most genuine person he had ever known. We lost him not long after, in a tragedy that left a hole in all of us. His words became my compass. I started counting blessings — small ones, ordinary ones, the moments so many of us forget to notice. And it changed everything. I've carried the dream of building Genuine Blessings in my heart for nearly fifteen years. My family and his thoughtfulness helped me to persevere through the toughest of times to finally make Genuine Blessings a reality.
Everything we share here is rooted in one simple belief — that an ordinary life, lived with gratitude, good food, handcrafted gifts, and a little homesteading, is a beautiful life. GenuinelySky is Sky's corner of that life. Her signature products, built with her own hands, on her own terms. As she does with everything, she bakes with her whole heart and you can taste the difference.
When you shop with us, you're not justmaking a purchase. You're sharing in our dreams — two generations, one family, a whole lot of love.
"Thank you for being here. I mean that genuinely." — Deborah
